What credentials does Tiny Olive have for making baby food? Tiny Olive was created by Georgina Howard, who has more than ten year’s experience in the food industry. Georgina is also a mum who is passionate about health, nutrition and organic food for young children. With the benefit of her own professional experience, and first-hand understanding of the demands faced by parents today, Georgina spent two years working with nutrition experts and food technologists to create Tiny Olive and give parents a much needed alternative to traditional baby foods.
Tiny Olive is also regulated by Environmental Health and the Organic Food Federation so you can be sure that our processes meet the food safety and legislative requirements of a quality organic food manufacturing business.
What goes into a Tiny Olive dish? Every Tiny Olive organic puree, organic meal, organic sauce and organic dessert contains 100% organic ingredients of agricultural origin. Each pot is packed with fresh and wholesome ingredients and not a jot more. That means NO artificial additives, preservatives, GMO’s, fillers, bulking agents or any other bad stuff. And that includes salt. After all, you wouldn’t use these ingredients to make baby food at home and neither do we.
Where does Tiny Olive source its ingredients from? We source our fresh produce from local organic farms and use reputable organic suppliers for our dry ingredients such as pasta and rice. Our farm fresh organic meat is also locally sourced and our fresh organic salmon comes directly from a sustainable salmon farm in the Shetland Isles that is monitored by the Organic Food Federation and the RSPCA.
How can I be sure each dish is 100% organic? Tiny Olive Organic Baby Food is certified by the Organic Food Federation. Our production facility, processes and products meet exacting organic processing standards and we are inspected annually to ensure that these standards are maintained.
We source all of our ingredients from organically certified suppliers and have full traceability systems in place which means we can trace every organic ingredient we use in each and every dish right back to the farm.
Where is Tiny Olive organic baby food made? Tiny Olive is based in West Bridgford, Nottingham. All our dishes are homemade during dedicated organic production periods in our approved kitchen.
Why are Tiny Olive meals more expensive than traditional organic baby foods? Quite simply, our prices reflect the quality and volume of raw ingredients used in our dishes. Organic ingredients command a premium price and because we don’t scrimp on the good stuff or use any nasty fillers or bulking agents, we have to spend more to make organic baby food of this quality.
Where can I buy Tiny Olive organic baby food? Tiny Olive organic weaning purees, organic meals, organic sauces and organic desserts are available for home delivery from our online baby deli at www.tinyolive.co.uk. Take a look at the Stockists page too; we're working on getting into shops near you!

Tiny Olive dishes are freshly made so why are they supplied frozen? At the conception of Tiny Olive, we planned to supply dishes chilled. However, we soon learned that the best way to retain nutrients in a freshly made meal that is not to be eaten immediately is to freeze it because frozen food doesn’t deteriorate. Chilled food kept in a refrigerator for even just a day has already begun to lose nutrients and taste but it keeps as fresh as when it was just made when it is freshly frozen.
How do I prepare Tiny Olive meals? All our meals come with full storage and heating instructions so getting food from pot to plate couldn’t be easier! All you have to do is thoroughly reheat the required amount of food on the hob or in the microwave and allow it to cool to the desired temperature before serving it to your baby. For best results, Tiny Olive recommends conventional cooking on the hob from chilled.
Tiny Olive organic meals and organic desserts (for babies aged six months plus) have been developed to help you cater for your little one’s changing preferences from weaning to toddlerhood. This means they come in a semi-pureed consistency so you can get it to just how your wee one likes it by mashing the warmed food with a fork.
And that’s all there is to it. Each dish is a balanced meal in itself but, if you’re feeling adventurous, you can always prepare a spoonful of frozen vegetables from the freezer or tear off a piece of fresh bread to serve alongside a meal. We prefer ice cream or custard for the crumble though!
How long can I keep Tiny Olive meals? Similar products tend to come with a 12 month shelf life when stored in a freezer. However, we prefer to give our products a shelf life of up to six months as our menus takes into account the types of food best enjoyed throughout the seasons and we think your little one should fully benefit from that. All our dishes are clearly labelled with a Best Before End date.
Un-warmed portions of thawed baby food can be stored in its original container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours.
How is Tiny Olive’s range of organic baby food different to comparable frozen baby food products on the market? Our range and service are unique. We don’t mass produce food that is stored for months at a time until it’s sold. We offer a seasonal menu that is based on nature’s very best offerings throughout the year and we make our meals using locally sourced ingredients. Our customers also value our very own brand of TLC as we strive to offer every one of our customers the very best product, service and care.
What are the benefits of organic baby food? "Choosing to feed your baby organically may be the single most important way to give them the best start in life."
Dr Vyvyan Howard, MB, chB, phD, FRC Path, University of Liverpool
The Soil Association gives the following explanation for choosing organic food for your tiny’s tum:
• Existing regulations on the amount of pesticide residues that non-organic foods may contain are based on 'acceptable' levels for adult consumption. Babies and young children, however, are at greater risk because the immaturity of their organic and body systems makes them more vulnerable to toxins. • Because children's diets are often restricted to just a few types of less processed food - like apples, potatoes or carrots - they may receive higher exposures. From conception until one year of age, children are at their most vulnerable. During this critical stage of development cells are multiplying at their peak, yet the body has a limited diet to draw upon. • A baby's digestive system is also more efficient than that of an adult at absorbing foods, enabling nutrients to be used more quickly, but also making the body more vulnerable to toxins. Immature kidneys are not as proficient at excreting harmful substances, so they may circulate in the body for longer. • No one yet knows what effect genetic engineering may have on food products and the health of those who consume them. So the best way to protect yourself and your baby from possible problems is to choose organic. Organic foods are produced without genetically modified ingredients. Why is water high in the list of ingredients in some Tiny Olive recipes? Water is an essential element in the cooking process of some of our dishes and some of the ingredients in those dishes absorb water when they are cooked. This is why the water content can appear high. We can assure you that no Tiny Olive recipe is watered down.
Is your packaging safe? Absolutely. We use food grade containers for all our organic baby meals, the ink used on our labels is water-based, and therefore free from solvents, and the label adhesive is also food grade. So your tot’s meals are not at risk of contamination from the packaging.
You’ll also see that the containers have tamper-evident seals in place, which will be intact when you receive your order. In the unlikely event that the seal is broken, please do not give the meal to your baby. Let us know straight away and we will reimburse you or replace the dish free of charge with your next order.
How does Tiny Olive contribute to the wellbeing of the environment? At the very heart of our ethos is an inherent consideration for the impact our operations have on the local, regional and national environment; in fact, we strive to positively contribute to environmental wellbeing and conserve resources.
